Man slain in District Heights

A 24-year-old man was shot and killed in District Heights Monday, and police are searching for suspects and a motive in the case.

The incident occurred about 10 p.m. in the 6400 block of Gateway Boulevard, authorities said. Police said they were called for a shooting, and arrived to find Michael Anthony Smith, who lived in District Heights, dead on the scene.

Police said they are still probing who might have shot Smith and why.
