Man with cane robbed of groceries, money in D.C.

Man sought in robbery outside D.C. convenience store. (D.C. Police)
District police have released surveillance photos and a video of two men they say stole groceries and money during a robbery of a man with a cane earlier this month in Southeast Washington.

The attack occurred Oct. 6, a few minutes after 7 p.m., in the 900 block of Barnaby St. Police said the men followed the victim out of a convenience store.

The video shows the men standing in the store as the victim shopped. One man, wearing a black leather jacket, looks over a rack of merchandise while the other stands in an aisle, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.

The men followed the victim, who appears to be an older man walking with a cane and carrying his purchases in a satchel slung over his right shoulder, as he leaves the store. The video does not show the attack.

Anyone with information is urged to call police at 202-727-9099 or text the department’s tip line at 50411. Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
