A Maryland man police said was driving under the influence has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in a June 5 two-vehicle crash on Columbia Pike, police said Friday.
Around 4:30 a.m. on June 5, Ahmed Ehsan, 54, was driving his Honda eastbound on Columbia Pike in Fairfax County. A Chrysler minivan headed the opposite direction veered into his lane, police said.
The vehicles collided head-on at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Powell Lane, according to police.
The driver of the minivan, Jose Ernesto Tejada Hinojosa, 44, was not injured in the crash, police said. But Ehsan, of Falls Church, died on June 21.
In addition to the manslaughter charge, Tejada Hinojosa was charged with DWI at the scene of the crash, police said. Nobody else was involved in the crash.
