Maryland man killed Tuesday in Millersville crash

A 56-year-old Severna Park man died Tuesday in a three-vehicle crash in Millersville, police said.

Anne Arundel police officers responding to the intersection of Benfield Boulevard and Veterans Highway about 12:48 p.m. determined that a Ford Expedition and a Honda CR-V were stopped at a red light when a Dodge Ram pickup rear-ended the Ford. The collision pushed the Ford into the Honda, police said.

The driver of the pickup, James Robert Parker, died at a hospital. The driver of the Ford and a passenger were unhurt; the driver of the Honda was treated for minor injuries, police said.

Authorities say they currently do not believe drugs, alcohol or speed contributed to the crash, and they continue to investigate.
