Md. attempted murder suspect fails to show at trial

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A man charged with attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend failed to show up at his trial, and police are looking for him.

Thirty-nine-year-old LaJaune McCoy did not show up at a hearing in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court on Tuesday. His public defender said his client indicated he would not appear at trial.

The Capital of Annapolis reports that McCoy was charged in September with attempted second-degree murder and other offenses and was released after posting $300,000 bond.

Authorities say McCoy, upset that contractors were in his ex-girlfriend’s house, beat her and choked her until she passed out.
