A Yorkshire terrier tossed from a balcony in Baltimore County has been released from an animal hospital and is on the mend, officials said Wednesday.
The Baltimore Sun reports that Gary Wallace Jr. threw the dog about 50 feet from a 23-foot townhouse balcony on Sunday. A witness found the injured dog and called police.
The dog was treated this week and is continuing its recovery at the Baltimore County animal shelter. The dog is now in the county’s custody, according to the Sun, since it is part of an ongoing investigation.
Wallace has been charged with animal mutilation and animal cruelty, and is being held on bond.
