BALTIMORE — Police in Baltimore have charged a 20-year-old father in the death of his infant son.
Police confirmed Wednesday that they arrested Dion Ware and have charged him with second-degree murder and other charges.
Police say they responded to the 300 block of East 22nd Street on Monday for reports of an infant that was not breathing. The child, who was born in October, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Ware initially told authorities that his son was asleep and making strange noises. He said he called 911 when he realized the boy was not breathing. The Medical Examiner found the child died from blunt force trauma.
