Md. man arrested in shooting at D.C. high school

Police have arrested a 25-year-old Landover man in the fatal shooting Friday night at a District high school.

A police spokesman said Saturday that the Metropolitan Police Department has arrested and charged Oma Crawford with murder. Police identified the victim as Ralph Thomas, 36, of Temple Hills.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. in a parking lot at McKinley Tech high school in Northeast Washington.

The police did not immediately release information about an alleged motive. Earlier, D.C. public school officials said it appeared that the victim, who died at the scene, was not connected with the school system.
