Md. man fatally shot in Northwest

A 32-year-old Maryland man was fatally shot shortly after midnight Saturday in Northwest Washington, police said.

District officers found David Andrew Matthews of Fort Washington about 12:30 a.m. in the 5600 block of North Capitol St. NW. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Investigators think he was shot in the unit block of Longfellow St. NW, less than a block away.
