Md. man killed in St. Mary’s crash

A Lexington Park man was killed trying to cross the road on foot Saturday night in Great Mills, according to police.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office said Gregory Alan Ford, 53, was attempting to cross Great Mills Road near Carver School Boulevard just before 8 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by a Lexington Park woman. Ford was taken to a hospital, where he died.

No charges have been filed against the driver, according to authorities, who said the woman did not appear to be speeding or under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
