Md. woman bitten by Rottweiler

An 62-year-old woman was bitten by a neighbor’s Rottweiler while walking through their neighborhood May 7, according to police.

The daughter of the owner was walking the dog on a leash in the 2100 block of Rose Theatre Circle in Olney, Md. when a neighbor approached them on the street. The Rottweiler then jumped and bit the other woman on the lips, according to Montgomery County police spokesperson Angela Cruz .

Police said the woman was taken to the hospital.

The Rottweiler has been vaccinated for rabies and is licensed, Cruz said. Montgomery County police said the dog has been placed under house arrest for 10 days and the victim does not currently want to press charges.
