Md. woman dead in Glen Burnie crash

One person has died and another was seriously injured after a two-car crash in Glen Burnie late Tuesday morning.

Emergency workers arriving at Crain Highway at Madison Park Drive around 11:11 a.m. found a Honda Civic and a Chevrolet pickup truck with significant damage, police said. The driver of the Civic, 67-year-old Wilda Scott of Millersville, was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 52-year-old Glen Burnie man, was taken to an area hospital.

Anne Arundel County Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that the pickup hit Scott’s car as she attempted to drive across three lanes of Crain Highway to reach the median. The vehicles slid 200 feet before stopping in the grass, according to police.

The driver of the pickup truck appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to police, but no charges had been filed in the case as of Tuesday evening.
