A 55-year-old woman was hit and killed by a Chevy Tahoe after running into a Maryland roadway Monday evening, police said.
Anne Arundel County police responded to reports of a pedestrian accident in the area of 5500 block of Muddy Creek Rd. in Churchton around 9 p.m., authorities said.
They found Cheryl Ann Howes, of Churchton, in the southbound lane; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around that same time, authorities received a report of a camper trailer fire in the same area. Authorities said Howes had been seen running from the camper trailer, where she was staying, into the road.
Police and the county’s fire department continue to investigate both the fire and the crash.
