Arlington police are looking for a group of people who prey on men as they solicit sex online or on phone chat lines.
In the most recent incident, a victim was pistol-whipped and robbed at gunpoint last Thursday in the 5000 block of Columbia Pike. He thought he was meeting a woman for sex, police said.
Police said that earlier in the day, the man contacted a woman online and agreed to meet her in Arlington. She told him a family member would escort him to her house, police said.
Instead, the victim was led to a wooded area where two men beat him with a gun, made him lie down and stole $80, a cell phone and two Metro cards, police said.
A similar incident happened in Arlington earlier this month. Police said they believe the incidents are related.
