A former Virginia high school football coach already facing four years in prison for having sex with underage girls has been sentenced to an additional year in a similar case.
Rick Witt of Goodview was sentenced Tuesday after entering a plea agreement in Roanoke County Circuit Court.
WSLS reports the former Staunton River High School football coach pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Six other charges were dropped.
Prosecutor Randy Leach says the charges stemmed from sexual encounters with a student at William Byrd High School in Vinton.
Witt previously pleaded guilty in Bedford County to 10 misdemeanor counts of consensual sexual intercourse with a minor. He was sentenced to four years in prison in that case.
