Motorcyclist killed in McLean crash

A Hyattsville man was killed in McLean when his motorcycle was hit head-on, Fairfax County police said Thursday.

Brian Benson, 58, was headed east on Georgetown Pike nearing Centrillion Drive when a car headed the other way crossed the center line and hit him shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Benson was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead shortly after midnight, police said.

The car’s driver, Gabriel Arevalo-Melendez, 30, of Sterling was charged with reckless driving, according to police.
