Murder charges for D.C. woman in man’s stabbing death

A 19-year-old District woman has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a man to death during a domestic dispute, police said.

Jewell Washington, of Northeast Washington, was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder in the death of Mark A. Goldring, 45, of Northeast Washington.

The stabbing took place Tuesday around 3 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Virginia Ave NE, near Galludet University, during “an apparent domestic dispute,” according to a message Fifth District Commander Andy Solberg sent to members of the district’s police-community email list.

Solberg said a police officer, who was passing by, was flagged down. He found Goldring suffering from injuries inside the home.

It was not known when Washington might appear in court.
