Nearly 70 cats seized from Anne Arundel Co. rescue center

Authorities seized nearly 70 cats from a Severna Park rescue center Wednesday morning, according to police.

Anne Arundel County Animal Control, police and other organizations took 67 cats in “various medical conditions” — and two dead ones — from Cool Cats Rescue Center at 546 Benfield Rd., a police press release said.

Animal control had received complaints about the conditions at the center, police said. The animals have been taken to a facility in Millersville, where they are being evaluated.

People interested in adopting these or other cats are asked to visit the Millersville Animal Control facility or county Animal Control’s Facebook page.

No charges have been filed, according to police.
