New interim chief for U.S. Capitol Police

U.S. Capitol Police Assistant Chief Thomas P. Reynolds will run the department on an interim basis, authorities said Monday.

He replaces longtime Chief Phillip D. Morse, who stepped down Saturday.

The department, which oversees security at congressional facilities, is looking for a permanent replacement, the Capitol Police said.
