None hurt after Georgetown building collapse

Nobody was hurt after a possible gas explosion led to the partial collapse of two Georgetown businesses, authorities said Thursday afternoon.

The collapse happened shortly after 4 p.m. in the 1400 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW, according to the District’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency and the city firefighter’s union.

DC Fire and EMS officials could not be reached Thursday, and the department’s Twitter feed did not immediately report the Georgetown incident.

Streets were closed in the area immediately after the incident, authorities said.
