None injured after shots fired at University of Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are investigating reports of gunfire on the University of Richmond campus.

University spokesman Brian Eckert said students were alerted to the incident early Tuesday and were advised that the police had assessed the situation and concluded it posed no threat. No one was injured as a result of the gunfire.

Eckert said police believe the person responsible for the gunfire had left campus.

Just under 3,000 students are on the University of Richmond campus in the city’s west end.
