One man was killed and another person was injured Monday afternoon in a shooting in Northeast Washington, D.C. police said.
The shooting occurred in the area of 21st and M streets NE about 5:20 p.m.
Ronald Deacon Smith, 27, of Northeast, was found dead in the 1100 block of 21st Street NE, with at least one apparent gunshot wound, police said.
The second victim, who was not identified, was found conscious in the 2000 block of M Street NE with gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
