One person dead in Round Hill shooting

The victimof a fatal shooting in Loudoun County Thursday was identified as Judith Y. Christen, 67, of Round Hill, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The circumstances surrounding Christen’s death remain under investigation, authorities said Friday.

A woman died after a shooting Thursday morning in Round Hill, according to the Loudoun County sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded to reports of a woman suffering a gunshot wound in the 34900 block of Sunny Ridge Road shortly before 11 a.m., authorities said.

The woman died at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. The victim’s identity was not released, pending notification of her family.

All those involved in the incident remained at the scene, authorities said, and there was no danger posed to the community.

The incident remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
