One person killed in B-W Parkway crash

One person has died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash that shut down part of the Baltimore Washington Parkway Thursday night and early Friday morning, authorities said.

Sebrone J. King, 28, of Burtonsville was killed in the crash, said Sgt. David Schlosser, a U.S. Park Police spokesman. He said the three other people were seriously hurt but are expected to survive.

The crash occurred about 10:15 p.m. Thursday on the Baltimore Washington Parkway just north of Route 197 in the Laurel area, authorities said. That’s where a car carrying four people ran off the roadway and into the woods, Schlosser said. All four people were trapped in the wreckage, he said.

It remains unclear why the car left the roadway, Schlosser said. Police shut down the northbound lanes of the Baltimore Washington Parkway for several hours while they investigated, but they were re-opened early Friday morning, authorities said.
