Pedestrian, 60, killed in Hybla Valley

A 60-year-old man was struck and killed by an SUV Wednesday night as he crossed Richmond Highway in Hybla Valley, Fairfax County police said.

Robert Berry, who has no fixed address, was hit just before 11:30 p.m. as he was walking in a northbound lane of Richmond Highwy near Arlington Drive, said Bud Walker, a police spokesman.

Berry was rushed to a hospital, where he died, according to Walker.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue stayed on the scene, Walker said.

Alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash and no charges are pending at this time, according to Walker.
