Pedestrian struck and killed in Glen Burnie

A car struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday as he attempted to cross a street in front of the Cromwell Light Rail Station in Glen Burnie, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Douglas Frank Pohlman, 51, of Davidsonville, was hit as he was crossing Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, police said.

He was not in a crosswalk, police said, but was between two designated crosswalk areas.

Pohlman was transported to the hospital, where he died, police said.

Pohlman may have been drinking before the accident occurred, police said. Pedestrian error is being listed as the primary cause of the incident.
