Pedestrian struck, killed by trash truck in Northwest

A pedestrian in Northwest Washington was struck and killed by a trash truck Monday afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. at 14th Street and Columbia Road in the Columbia Heights neighborhood, according to police.

Police said the victim was an adult male whose identity was being withheld pending notification of his family.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
