Pedestrian struck on Route 301 in Waldorf

A pedestrian was struck by a car Thursday morning on Route 301 in Waldorf, police said.

The incident occurred in the 2200 block of Crain Highway about 5:30 a.m. Police said the driver remained on the scene.

The condition of the pedestrian and additional details are not yet available.

Investigators are currently on the scene. Traffic for northbound drivers is expected to be tied up most of the morning.
