Pedestrians hit in DC

Two pedestrians were struck by vehicles in separate incidents in the morning rush hour, including a woman who was struck by a car at 14th and Madison streets NW at the National Mall at about 9:30, according to D.C. officials.

The woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries officials said were not life-threatening.

The other pedestrian, a teen, was hit minutes earlier by a Metrobus at 1300 Stevens Rd SE. He sustained minor injuries, officials said.

Rain is causing reduced visibility on the roads, authorities said.
