The photo was taken at the Commerce Street Plaza and possibly shows the suspect’s vehicle tailing the vehicle of the victim in the case, police said.
Three men abducted a Springfield man at gunpoint and forced him to withdraw money from two banks, before they abandoned him in the trunk of his own car, police said.
One of the men displayed a handgun and forced the victim into his red, four-door Honda, police said. All three suspects got in the car and drove the victim to two banks, where he withdrew undisclosed sums of money, police said.
The victim was then driven to an unknown location, forced into the trunk of his car and then driven a short distance, police said. One of the men then opened the trunk, displayed a knife and cut the victim slightly, police said. He was not seriously injured.
The assailant instructed the man to remain in the trunk until the trio made their escape, police said. When the victim got out of the trunk, he was in the area of Piedmont Place and Braddock Road in Annandale, police said.
The suspects were described as black males between 18 and 25 years of age. All wore hooded jackets, police said. Two had masks on and the third covered his face with a cloth, police said.
