Pink stun gun seized from DC-bound airline passenger

Here is a tipoff: one of the big buttons on the supposed cell phone reads “stun” not “send.”

But otherwise, the pink item in the bag of a DC-bound passenger could have passed for a phone.

Transportation Security Administration agents at Los Angeles International Airport removed the stun gun Monday during passenger screening for an American Airlines flight to Reagan National Airport, a TSA spokesman said.

The woman, who was allowed to board after giving up her stun gun, could face a civil penalty for bringing the weapon to the checkpoint, the TSA said in a statement.

The TSA declined to say in what city the passenger resides. TSA screeners have detected about 1,100 guns this year, said spokesman Kawika Riley.
