Pit bull killed after pair attacks Arlington man

An Arlington man was attacked and injured by a pair of pit bulls Sunday as his two sons watched, police said.

The man, 62, is recovering at a local hospital, authorities said. He was bitten many times from head to toe, said Arlington police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck.

The attack was unprovoked, according to Sternbeck.

It happened in the 2000 block of South Oakland Street at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday. As police located the dogs, according to police, one of them charged at officers and police shot and killed him. The other dog was captured.

No charges have been filed against the dog’s owner.
