Anne Arundel County police said Kenneth W. Mitchell, 34, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault and other charges after a Thursday morning incident.
According to police, officers went to the 600 block of Alabama Avenue about 2 p.m. after a report of a domestic-related shooting. On the way, police learned that the victim was at a neighbor’s home in the 7000 block of Charleston Avenue.
At the Charleston Avenue home, police said, they found a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital, where she is in stable condition.
Police said they learned that Mitchell was arguing with the woman before he took out a gun and shot her. Mitchell then went to a neighbor’s house seeking help, police said, while the woman went to the Charleston Avenue address.
