A 16-year-old girl was assaulted by a man Monday afternoon as she walked home from W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, police said.
The girl had just entered a path in the woods at the end of Pickett Road around 4 p.m., when the man approached her from behind, grabbed her neck and assaulted her, Fairfax County police said.
A struggle ensued and the girl was knocked to ground, police said. The man then fled, the girl screamed and ran to a nearby home for help, police said.
The suspect is described as a man between 18 and 27 years old, 5 ’8” tall and around 170 pounds. He had short black hair and wore a white t-shirt and shorts.
