Fairfax County Police have identified a man who died when his speeding car struck a tree the afternoon of March 29.
Todd Sterling Hein, 38, was driving his 2005 Cadillac sedan at about 4:30 p.m. on Harrison Lane in Hybla Valley when the car failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, police said.
The car headed down the paved entrance to Huntley Meadows Park, ran off the driveway, struck a tree and caught fire. Passers by unsuccessfully tried to free Hein, police said.
Hein, of the 5500 block of Woodway Drive in Alexandria, died at the scene.
