Police identify body as 54-year-old man

District police have identified a body found two weeks ago in Southeast as a 54-year-old man who authorities said had been beaten to death.

The body of Ibrahim Musa, of Northeast, was discovered about 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 18 in the 1900 block of Curtis Ave., SE, near the Anacostia Freeway and Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast, according to police.

A passerby saw the man and thought he was unconscious, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not release any additional information, including how long the body had been at the location or precisely where on the street the body was found.

Authorities said the Musa died from “multiple blunt impact” blows to the body. A $25,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction. Tipsters can call D.C. police at 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
