Police have identified the man found fatally shot inside a home in Riverdale Wednesday afternoon as 40-year-old Ivan Alvaro Aguirre-Herrera, authorities said Thursday.
Officers were called to check on Aguirre-Herrera’s welfare just after 4 p.m. Wednesday and arrived to find him fatally shot inside the home in the 6200 block of Kenilworth Avenue, authorities said.
Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a Prince George’s County police spokesman, said Aguirre-Herrera lived in the home.
It remains unclear precisely when Aguirre-Herrera was shot, Copeland said. He said investigators are still probing that and searching for suspects and a motive in the case.
