Police identify woman found dead in Northeast

The body of a woman found in front of a seafood wholesaler on Wednesday morning has been identified as a 39-year-old from Northeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

Misty Lachelle Clandon’s body was found shortly before 5 a.m. in the 1900 block of Fenwick St. NE., a block from New York Avenue near Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Police have said that the woman was not connected to the seafood market, and a nightclub around the corner was closed Tuesday night. Police said they are awaiting a cause of death from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Meanwhile, homicide detectives are investigating. Anyone with information is urged to call D.C. police at 202-727-9099 or text their tip line at 50411.
