Police investigate shooting in Riverdale

A male was shot and seriously wounded Wednesday night in the Riverdale area, Prince George’s County police said.

Officers were called to the 6400 block of 61st Place and found the victim about 10:15 p.m., said Cpl. Mike Rodriguez, a police spokesman. The victim was taken to a hospital with potentially life threatening wounds, Rodriguez said.

Police were investigating what prompted the gunfire.
