Police investigate robbery at Laurel Wal-Mart

Police in Anne Arundel County are continuing to investigate a robbery at a Wal-Mart in Laurel early Wednesday morning in which a store employee was shot.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. at the store at the intersection of U.S. 295 and Route 198, near the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, police said.

When first responders arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries described by police as non-life-threatening.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money, police said, driving away in a dark-colored van.

Police released surveillance images of the suspect, who they said wore a black jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants during the robbery.
