Police in Prince George’s County are advising area liquor store owners to be on alert following a string of robberies targeting the shops as they opened for business.

Three local liquor stores have been robbed in the past month, police said.

The first was David’s Liquors in the 7000 block of Annapolis Road in Landover, on Sept. 4, at 9:20 a.m.

About 9:20 on Saturday morning, Base Liquors in the 4800 block of Allentown Road in Suitland was robbed.

The most recent robbery happened on Tuesday at 7:20 a.m. at East Pines Liquor in the 6800 block of Riverdale Road in Riverdale.

Police said that in each case, two men posing as customers entered the stores shortly after opening. One of the men then pulled out a gun and announced a robbery, then the duo tied up employees and stole cash.

Investigators believe the same two men are behind the robberies.
