Police investigating body found in car near Seat Pleasant

[Update: 12:22 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10: Investigators are treating the death as a suicide, a police spokesman says.]

Prince George’s County detectives are probing the death of a person found inside a car near Seat Pleasant Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Police were called to the 200 block of Dateleaf Avenue to check on the welfare of someone about 2:30 p.m., said Cpl. Evan Baxter, a Prince George’s County police spokesman. They arrived to find a person dead in a car, he said.

Baxter said he did not know any other details because homicide detectives were still headed to the scene.

For now, Baxter said, the case is being treated as a death investigation.
