Police: Man fatally shot in head in Southeast D.C.

Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Southeast Washington that left one man dead.

The shooting happened about 1:15 a.m. in the 1300 block of Stevens Road SE, in the Barry Farm neighborhood of the District, police said.

Officers responded to the area to investigate reports of a shooting. Upon arriving, they found a man who had been shot in the head.

The victim, who was identified as 27-year-old Levern Butler of Southeast, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police currently have no suspects or motive in the shooting.
