Police: Person falls from pedestrian bridge at Tysons Corner Center

A person jumped or fell 25 feet from a pedestrian bridge at Tysons Corner Center shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday and was transported to the hospital, Fairfax County police said.

The person was unconscious following the incident, but his or her condition was unknown, said Officer Bud Walker, a police spokesman.

Walker said it was unclear why the person fell from the walkway and could not say whether the location was inside or outside the mall. Police were called to the scene around 5:10 p.m., he said.

Walker said the incident did not occur on the same pedestrian bridge, where a Fairfax County grandmother threw her 2-year-old granddauther to her death in November 2010.
