Police in Prince George’s County are out in Capitol Heights this morning as part of a renewed effort to find the person who killed a teenager walking to school last month.
Between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., police officers are speaking with drivers and pedestrians about Marckel Ross, the 18-year-old junior at Capitol Heights High School who was gunned down on Sept. 11.
Monday’s effort will focus on the area where Ross was fatally shot: Old Central Avenue between Rollins Avenue and Maryland Park Avenue.
Police said they hope to learn more about a possible robbery they believe happened the day before Ross’s murder.
Investigators believe an unidentified person was robbed in the same area but never reported the crime.
Anyone with information about the unidentified robbery victim or the Ross case is asked to call 1-866-411-TIPS.
