Fairfax County police have released a sketch of a possible suspect in an assault on a 16-year-old girl, who was walking home from school in Fairfax City last week.

The girl had entered a wooded path off Pickett Road near Woodson High School around 4 p.m. on March 19, when a man approached her from behind, grabbed her neck and assaulted her, police said. The girl struggled with the man and was knocked to the ground.

The man eventually fled from the scene on foot, and the girl screamed and went to a nearby home for help, police said.

The suspect is described as between the ages of 20 and 40, thin and about 170 pounds. He is believed to have been driving an early 2000s model white, four-door Honda Accord.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS.
