Police release video of Northwest D.C. 7-Eleven robbery

Police on Thursday released surveillance video showing two men with handguns and wearing masks robbing a Northwest D.C. convenience store, one pointing his weapon at several customers as his accomplice steals money.

The robbery occurred Wednesday about 4:35 a.m. at a 7-Eleven in the 1100 block of U St. NW.

Video taken from three camera angles shows the men rushing into the store, with the man trailing pointing his gun to the right at a person who crouches to the floor behind a merchandise stand.

The gunman who first entered goes behind the counter and is seen forcing the clerk to open two cash drawers. Meanwhile, the other man points his gun toward at least three other customers near the front counter.

Police described the first suspect as a black male in his early 20s standing perhaps 6 feet tall with a slim build and light complexion who wore a mask, gray jeans and gray shirt.

The second suspect was described as standing 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build and medium to light complexion and wearing a mask, blue jeans and dark hooded shirt.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 202-727-9099 or send a text message to 50411.
