Jogger sexually assaulted at knifepoint on Four Mile Run in Arlington, police say

A 23-year-old Arlington woman was sexually assaulted at knifepoint Tuesday evening near mile marker 44 on the Four Mile Run bike trail.

The report was made to police by the Virginia Hospital Center staff at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday. An hour earlier, police said, the woman said she was confronted by a man brandishing a knife. She had passed him on the trail a few minutes earlier. The assailant dragged the woman off the trail into tall vegetation, where he assaulted her, police said.

After the assault, the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction and the woman ran home, then drove herself to the hospital.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’5”- 6” tall and 140 lbs. The victim recalled the subject having a small head and a very high pitched voice and speaking very limited English. He had short black hair, brown eyes and no facial hair. The victim stated the suspect was wearing a green t-shirt with the word “George” across the front, and believes it was George Mason University lettering.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Greg Sloan at 703.228.4198 or gsloan@arlingtonva.us.
