Police seek suspect in attempted D.C. sex assault

Police are seeking a man they say tried to sexaually assault a woman in her Southeast D.C. home on Monday morning.

The victim entered her home around 8:30 a.m at the corner of 50th and C streets when a knife-wielding man tried to assault her, police said.

She was able to stop the assault, and the suspect fled, police said.

The victim said the suspect entered her home through an unlocked door, according to police.

Police released a composite sketch of the suspect. He is described as a black man in his late 20s, about 5’7” to 5’9”tall, weighing 220 lbs, with dark brown complexion, close-cut hair and brown eyes, police said.
