Police are looking for a man they say robbed a taxi driver at gunpoint early Saturday in Northwest D.C.

The man, who carried a handgun, robbed the driver at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the 6500 block of Georgia Avenue NW, police said. He then fled on foot. It was unclear whether the suspect had been the driver’s fare before the robbery.

Police released a surveillance image of the suspect, who they described as a male between 18 and 23 years old with a light complexion, standing perhaps 5 feet 9 inches or 5 feet 10 inches tall, with brown eyes and black hair.

He was wearing a cowboy-style hat and a green Mountain Dew shirt, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411.
